I read almost the entire book on the train ride to and from NYC this weekend. Even though it’s overwritten and a bit sensational, it’s also completely fascinating. It’s a fictionalized account of Laura Bush’s life that renders her a sympathetic, if not entirely likable character. If you are at all curious about how the bookish, liberal, introverted woman (she famously told her mother-in-law: “I read, I smoke and I admire”) became married to Dubya, it’s worth checking out.
